Rough Cut - February

Today we showed the group our rough cut. There were some problems which we already knew about which they aslo spotted so they gave us some points to improve on. Also they pointed out problems we didnt even know about which was helpful.

The first thing was our titles. We had spent little time on titles and just quickly did them at the end before exporting our video so were expecting that response. We were told to think more about the font and when they appear and go as, as it was at the time the titles were pretty bland and didnt have much to them. They definately didnt relate to the video. We were already prepared for this response so it wasnt't too much of a concern.

The second pointer was the title. Our initial idea was to call the film 'Against All Odds' as the main character would be achieving greatness against the odds. But we were told that from the opening scene it didnt really link. We wasnt expecting this as at the time we thought it was a good title, however thinking about it after peoples comments we realised we needed to change it. We now need to think of a new name for our film as soon as we can.

They were impressed with our editing and how it fitted with the music although there were a few minor tweaks that needed to be changed. One was the use of the Noise effect, in some of the shots the percentage was too high which made the shots just look stupid but that will be easy to change so it wont take to long.

There was a few shots that we would need to redo and 10 seconds that we needed to fill which we plan to have Me in the recording studio.

After showing our rough cut to the group we have had no major shocks and nothing too drastic that needs to be changed so we are reasonably happy with our feedback. We are sure that after this rough cut viewing that we can make a video up to a high standard which we have been aiming for since the start of the course.
