We initially had some problems with uploading to YouTube when logged into our school accounts. It would get to 100% every time and then freeze.
Therefore we had to see the IT Technicians and then get them to Upload it.
We are now going to upload it onto Facebook and try to get as much feedback as possible to use for our evaluation.

Finishing Touches - March
Today we watched our video over and over again looking for any problems or any changed that we needed to make. We then showed the video to other people to see if they noticed anything wrong with it as sometimes you cant always see the faults in your own work.
As a group we are now happy with the video and plan to upload it to YouTube as soon as possible once we have exported it.

Titles - March
On the 4th March we decided to spend more time on the titles and also the main Title of our film.
We firstly listened to our track and watched our video to see where the titles would fit best to fit in the the beat and leave with the beat so it flows a lot better and adds a cutting edge finish to it.
Then we looked at a font that would fit in better with the style of our film. We went for a font that was more urban as opposed to a traditional font and also added some effects to make it look a little like graffiti without going over the top to blend them in better with the sequence.

Filming - March
On the 3rd March we filmed the 10 second clip of me in the studio so we would now have the full video with no gaps. It didnt take much editing as we knew what we neede to record so we could put it straight into the gap in the video. Then we used the feedback from our rough cut to re film a couple of clips and also to re edit a few clips.
Once this was uploaded into our area we put the new clips into our sequence as well.

Rough Cut - February
Today we showed the group our rough cut. There were some problems which we already knew about which they aslo spotted so they gave us some points to improve on. Also they pointed out problems we didnt even know about which was helpful.
The first thing was our titles. We had spent little time on titles and just quickly did them at the end before exporting our video so were expecting that response. We were told to think more about the font and when they appear and go as, as it was at the time the titles were pretty bland and didnt have much to them. They definately didnt relate to the video. We were already prepared for this response so it wasnt't too much of a concern.
The second pointer was the title. Our initial idea was to call the film 'Against All Odds' as the main character would be achieving greatness against the odds. But we were told that from the opening scene it didnt really link. We wasnt expecting this as at the time we thought it was a good title, however thinking about it after peoples comments we realised we needed to change it. We now need to think of a new name for our film as soon as we can.
They were impressed with our editing and how it fitted with the music although there were a few minor tweaks that needed to be changed. One was the use of the Noise effect, in some of the shots the percentage was too high which made the shots just look stupid but that will be easy to change so it wont take to long.
There was a few shots that we would need to redo and 10 seconds that we needed to fill which we plan to have Me in the recording studio.
After showing our rough cut to the group we have had no major shocks and nothing too drastic that needs to be changed so we are reasonably happy with our feedback. We are sure that after this rough cut viewing that we can make a video up to a high standard which we have been aiming for since the start of the course.

Editing - February
On the 14th february we began to edit our video, we had to visit the ICT Technicians as our save areas weren't big enough to change the format of our clips so we could import them into Adobe Premier Pro CS4.
Once they had been changed we went through each clip removing the parts that we either didn't need, had clear errors or just didn't look good.
We then imported the videos Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and began to put together the beginning sequence.
We next planned to film on the 17th February. We will film My part of the film then.
After filming on the !7th February we added our new clips to our video. We spent the afternoon editing each of the clips into our sequence trying to make the timings perfect. We spotted a few continuity problems once the videos were uploaded which we will need to film again however we are please with our progress as a group so far. We were glad we spotted the continuity errors early as we had plenty of time to put them right.

Filming - February
We started recording our final task on Thursday 10th February. We went to the abandoned Dairy Crest Factory in Peterborough as it was a good location to show that the main character, Tom, lives in a very urban rough area. During the filming session we also went to the nearby flats, which looks like a concrete jungle, where Sols brother lives to set the scene for the main character. I think where we filmed really showed the class and status of Tom.
We are going to get the video files transferred to our shared area on Monday to begin our editting process.
On the 11th we went to film some more of the main characters scene. We managed to get a good clip on a long path which we think will be good for our end scene as it feels as if it is a drak threatening place in a rough area.
We also went to look for more locations that we would be able to use for other parts of the opening scene. So when we had more time in the future we would know exactly where to go to be more efficient with our time to get as much recording as possible done.
Today we spent the morning filming my part of the film.My character is the wealthy and already established rapper so we needed to find a location to reflect this.
Initially we were just going to film in the schools recording studio but we realised that this wouldn't be substantial enough for the whole film as it is not very diverse.
Fortunately on one of our location scoutings we visited Thorpe Hall which would be ideal for my part. We were also lucky with the weather as it was a sunny day which improved the lighting of each shot making the location look brighter, again showing the contrast of the class and status between me and Tom .
!!!After gaining permission to film in the grounds we were able to take some ideal shots showing how wealthy 'Sam Sparkz' is and how his lifestyle varies from 'Tom Bensons'
We have uploaded and tranferred the clips today and we will edit them tomorrow.
Today we re-filmed some scenes that had continuity errors from before and also filmed a few shots inside the schools recording studio.
We were slightly lucky with the weather as there wasn't too much difference between the lighting on the first shooting compared to the second.
We are now going to put all the clips together ready to be shown as a Rough Cut to our teacher and the class.
This will give us feedback on how to make our video better.
